From the East, there are two ways to get to Paul Lake. You can cut off at Prichard or go all the way to Kamloops, then back up the valley to the lake. I decided I wanted to take the short cut, it should save twenty or so minutes. As the exit has changed with the new highway, I missed the turn off. I did manage to turn around not to far down the road. Got back to a train blocking the crossing, had to wait at least 15 minutes, so much for saving time. The first part of this road is all gravel and some washboard. It was a little jarring to say the least. Nether Pat nor Jack were impressed. At Pinantan the road becomes paved, it's not to bad after that.
We get to the campsite and I go to get a drink of water and notice that the frig door is not working properly. The lower hinge is broken. The door is just a plastic surround with a little bump out for the hinges. The inner shelves and the outer panels just slide in tracks, with some insulation in between. Luckily it did not try to fall off when opened. I had some epoxy glue with me, so I thought I would give it a shot, not expecting too much. Lo and behold it held and is still working.
One reason for coming back here was cuz Ryan, Lam and Quinn were going to be here. They were there before we got there. It was nice to spend a few days with them.
As with most campsites, there are bear sighting signs around. This is the first one we have seen a bear. One morning we heard a noise from the back of the trailer and Jack's tail was all fluffed up. I poked my head out the door and the bear poked his head our around the back of the trailer, looked at me and kept doing what ever he was doing. It wasn't long before he left and I took a look to see what all the noise was. He had knocked a small Saskatoon Berry tree over onto the back of the trailer, it was slapping against the fiberglass and making a lot of noise, no damage.
Not a good photo of him but all I got.Ryan and Quinn
There was a Big Bird Fly In at the Tournament Ranch, I went down and said hello to the guys. It was nice to see them all.
Down the Coq.
