Iskut July 11-12
A couple of travel days.
Kinaskan Lk was our stop for the night, as we did not travel far it was early afternoon when we got there. We found a nice spot right on the lake and Pat backed me in. She hopped back in the truck and said " we can't stay here, there is water on both sides of the site and the mosquitoes were a thick cloud. Too bad, it was a beautiful spot. Up the road we go, Red Goat Lodge, ok, we will stay here for the night. Found a nice spot, again on the water, with less bugs.
There was power and water here, no sewer. As you can see the lake is right behind the trailer and the wind was blowing, so we got to listen to the waves crash against the shore all night. Still a pretty nice place.
I was told that it got it's name from the mountain goats that roll on the sides of a creek that has red sand and it dyes there hair red. Never saw one.
Dease Lake was our next destination. We were looking for a full service rv park with some sort of cell or wifi as we hadn't had any in a while. I was so intent on looking for the RV park, I missed the turn off to Dease Lk. ad still never found the RV PK. We were going to fill up there as well, so we check the Garmin and it said there was fuel at Good Hope LK. I had lots of fuel but it is a long way between fuel stations up here. I had enough to get to Watson Lk. Yukon but that did not give me enough to go exploring. We carried on and found a nice RV park a little farther up Dease Lk. They advertise free wifi, good our stop for the night. The name of the site is Waters Edge, no services but hay, free wifi.
Our view of the lake from the back of the site.
This is the nicest RV park yet, well run, clean and beautiful. It turns out we were one site to far away to get a good wifi signal, we could go and sit at the picnic table closer to the office but the skeeter are mean up here, so I passed on that.
A couple more of the lake from the boat launch.
Thought I would throw this one in.
Next Boya Lk. PP
